Nicky plays a central role in the day-to-day running of the charity, taking care of much of the administration. When fellow trustees come up with brilliant ideas, she’s the one who ensures they become reality—running the Fulfilment Centre, carefully packaging items, and making countless trips to the post office. For Nicky, it’s simply the best way to make sure everything is done properly.
The charity gives her a deep sense of purpose, allowing her to continue doing things for Finley. She feels immense pride in what his name and memory are achieving, helping and supporting others. Having experienced just how difficult that journey can be, she is driven to do everything she can for those walking a similarly challenging path.
Nicky has worked for the ambulance service for over 20 years and still wears her uniform with pride—although she’ll admit she has never quite made peace with night shifts!
And, of course, she’s always on the lookout for a time machine.

Ben has found that helping to establish and run Finley’s Touch has been an important part of coping with the loss of Finley. It gives him focus—keeping his mind occupied, holding on to happy memories, and showing others that it is possible to find a way forward even when everything feels lost. The heartfelt messages of thanks from those they support make it all truly worthwhile.
Ben works as a Paramedic and Operational Team Leader with the Ambulance Service, where no two days are ever the same. Outside of work, he’s often updating the website or coming up with new and sometimes wonderfully whacky ideas. Inspired by Finley, Ben created the Paint Splatter Workshop, which has since grown into a much-loved activity, helping many children create vibrant, imaginative works of art.

Aaron played a key role in shaping Finley’s Touch from the very beginning, and her ideas, support, and encouragement were instrumental in getting the charity off the ground.
She’s always the first to join our regular Trustee Zoom meetings—at least a minute early—brimming with enthusiasm, fantastic suggestions, and a real passion for new projects. The only challenge is that we often can’t hear her, and she can’t always see us! And no, it’s not down to too much Prosecco… apparently it’s “technical issues”!
With a love for organisation and keeping everything neat and tidy, Aaron certainly has her work cut out managing our Paint Splatter events. Despite the chaos you might expect, she’s brilliant in this role, happily embracing the paint, glitter, and creativity alongside the children.
One of Aaron’s proudest and most rewarding moments was single-handedly transporting five Hospital Survival Bags across London—with her four-year-old Brooks in tow—all the way to Great Ormond Street Hospital, helping to spread a little fun, happiness, and hope.

Auntie Eleanor brings a seemingly endless supply of energy to Finley’s Touch—even on the groggiest of Sunday mornings—and helps keep us all motivated while ensuring Finley’s story continues to reach and inspire others.
She is the voice behind our press releases, and her media expertise is invaluable to the charity, helping us share our message far and wide. Eleanor’s connection to Finley runs even deeper—while he was in hospital, she lovingly wrote him his very own story, which you can still find on our website: https://finleystouch.org.uk/fun-and-games.
Bold, brilliant, and never one to shy away from getting stuck in, Eleanor is just as happy shaking a fundraising bucket as she is crafting the perfect piece of writing. And when it comes to putting the kettle on, she’s quicker than a megalodon chasing breakfast—ensuring no one is ever without a well-timed cuppa!

Sophie brings a vibrant, youthful energy to Finley’s Touch. Although she (firmly!) believes she’s the most fashionable and glamorous of the trustees, she’s just as happy to roll up her sleeves, grab a Nerf gun, and dive headfirst into the fun—joining in with anything and anyone willing to join her. For Sophie, if she can make a child laugh until their tummy hurts, it’s always worth it. After all, that’s what Fairy Godmothers are for!
We’re incredibly lucky to have Sophie leading all of our social media. She’s constantly coming up with creative fundraising ideas and new ways to spread the word about Finley’s Touch. If there’s a way to share our latest post beyond the solar system, Sophie will find it.

Colin keeps a steady hand on the finances at Finley’s Touch, making sure everything adds up and stays on track—no small task given some of the ideas that get thrown around! While the rest of us can quickly get carried away debating whether a rubber chicken could, in theory, fly a jumbo jet, Colin is the calm and sensible voice bringing us gently back down to earth.
With a sharp eye for detail and a natural ability to keep things organised, Colin ensures that the charity runs responsibly and sustainably behind the scenes. His guidance helps turn our enthusiasm and creativity into something practical, making sure every penny is used to make the biggest possible difference.
Balanced, thoughtful, and always ready with a reality check when needed, Colin is an essential part of the team—keeping us grounded while still supporting the fun, energy, and ambition that drives Finley’s Touch forward.

Ralph joined Finley’s Touch as a Trustee in winter 2022, after spending many months enthusiastically sharing his wonderfully wacky fundraising ideas with Ben, Nicky—and just about anyone else who would listen!
Fast forward a short time, and those ideas have already come to life: a hugely successful Christmas Card campaign, the chance to adopt a rubber chicken, and plenty more creativity waiting in the wings. If we take on even half of Ralph’s ideas, we’re certainly in for some exciting (and entertaining!) times ahead.
With nearly 20 years of experience working with charities and not-for-profit organisations, Ralph brings a wealth of knowledge, skills, and insight to Finley’s Touch. And while his tea-making skills might leave a little to be desired, he more than makes up for it with his impressive home-brewing talents!
